Per VA they do not have a policy on acceptable gift donors & we would follow our own internal policy.  We will defer to FHA guidelines since they are also a government entity & say that yes as long as we have a letter from the gift donor explaining their vested relationship with the brrw & as long as it makes sense.  Gift would be documented the same on VA as it would on FHA including proof of donors ability, copy of cancelled check & proof of receipt into brrws account.
